The Eritrean dictatorship Enablers

They are the source and backbone of the dictatorial regime in Eritrea; they are the biggest threat to Eritrea’s future, democracy and peace. They are the single most dedicated individuals and groups in defending the dictatorial regime of Isayas Afeworki. You know them; these are the dictatorship enablers and the unconscionable manipulators who are all more than glad to lead PFDJ followers to the extremity of disaster. They have no sense of right or wrong. They have a conscience that fails to oppose injustice, gross human rights violations, and poverty and hunger in their own society.

Mobilizing the zeal of dictatorship

These breed of dictatorship enablers have turned the country into unfathomable crisis by concocting inconceivable politics that blamed others for secretly orchestrating the misery and destitution that have befallen Eritrean people. Such invocation of travesty and distortion of objective reality is persistently fed into the minds of the gullible supporters of PFDJ. In doing so, these armies of dictatorship enablers and the supporters have become so submissive that they gave up standing on their own feet and instead chose to applaud the dictatorship, even at the risks of losing their own rights and freedoms.

Increasingly, they lost the sense of free mind and conscience that enable a normal human being to oppose any dictatorial regime that takes away the legitimate political power of people. Whether they know it or not, the dictatorial regime has recruited them to impose its identity on them and through them marginalize and divide Eritrean people, as well as widens its use of repression against any potential opposition. At present, it is none other than the enablers who are promoting and empowering a regime that has already masterminded the use of fear, death, execution, imprisonment, and disappearance as a tool of repression in the country.

They are like a malignant disease

The enablers of the dictatorial government work the same way as a malignant disease in the minds of PFDJ supporters. In other words, their campaign on behalf of the dictatorial regime is like untreatable dangerous disease that progresses in the minds of the PFDJ supporters and destroys the nation. How do you think the regime of Isayas survives? Why do you think the regime invents problem and blames it on others? Well, its enablers are there to deceive and distort the truth in every possible way. For example, when the regime denies the presence of hunger and poverty in Eritrea, the enablers begin to beat the drum, maintaining that the regime is telling the truth and everything is fine and rosy in Eritrea. The truth is not only are Eritrean people falling to their knees by the brute force of the dictator; not only are Eritrean people dying of hunger and starvation; not only are thousands of Eritrean youth fleeing the country, not only are thousands of Eritreans languishing in prisons, but also in the course of all these grave events, the regime is endangering the existence of the country.

This is not a simple dictatorial repression; it is disintegrating the nation. Yet, the enablers along with their supporters remain avid believers of the regime. Their attraction and willingness to embrace one of the worst dictatorship regimes on earth is strikingly destructive and thoroughly blind. It is like a malignant disease that progressively gets worse with no treatment on the horizon.

They turn minds and bodies into Commodities

These enablers have turned the minds and bodies of the PFDJ supporters into commodities to enforce the power of the dictatorial regime. The aim is the same: to assist the tyranny by echoing traitors, foreign enemies, sell outs …etc, the very language the regime wants them to promote. They keep rallying behind the regime in the face of perpetual political terror and absolute social and economic deprivation of their society. Their actions simply crystallize how the regime uses these enablers to subjugate the PFDJ supporters into submission by a propaganda molded into a combination of foreign enemies and internal traitors, propaganda often loaded with hidden agendas to hold onto power while giving the PFDJ supporters the illusion of good things happening in the country.

There is no ambiguity that collaborating with a dictator in the destruction of the nation, sowing the seeds of division into the uniqueness of Eritrean society, victimizing Eritrean people, and bringing danger to the security of the nation is a monumental crime. Far worse, enabling is equivalent to participating in the formulation and execution of the atrocities and the tyrannical political order that the Eritrean dictatorial regime pursues against its own citizens. This is exactly what the enablers are doing in Eritrea - muddling issues in the minds and bodies of the unsuspecting supporters to foster the legitimacy of a regime that is rooted in violence and guns. There is nothing more betrayal and treacherous than enabling a dictator that is reducing Eritrea into uninhabitable country.

They live in bubble

In Eritrea, the entire population lives under the thumb of one of the most brutal governments on this earth. The military dictatorial regime has control over everything in the country.  It slaughtered thousands of opposition dissidents, banned religious freedoms, kept thousands Eritreans incommunicado, and denied Eritreans the right to food in order to stay in power. This international pariah regime continues to stay afloat mainly by depending on its Eritrean enablers who roam the foreign lands and fill its coffers to finance its repressive rule. Obscuring and muddling everything to save the regime, these enablers act more Eritreans than Eritrean people themselves who have not seen the light of freedom for the last eighteen years. It can be said that the dictatorial regime mystifies these enablers and supporters; it makes them fight against their own rights and freedoms. They think they know better, but they live in bubble.

Believe in your own rights and freedoms

Above all, the dictatorship enablers have to understand that they have traded deliberately the 30-year-old liberation struggle of Eritrean people to a dictatorial regime of Isayas Afeworki. What they are doing is taking away Eritrean people’s fundamental freedoms and rights, the very reason against which Eritrean people rebelled at colonial powers and caused them to wage a war of independence in the first place. Certainly, it is time for the dictatorship enablers in Eritrea to draw a line in the sand and say this is enough ‘we have become dictator enablers, anti justice and anti democracy in Eritrea, and anti Eritrean people’s dreams and hopes.’ To do that the dictatorship enablers need to start believing in their own fundamental rights and freedoms before venturing into Eritrea proper. In other words, unless one believes in justice, one cannot advocate for justice of Eritrean people. Quit being the enabler and supporter of the dictatorial regime; your freedom and interest lies in liberating your own people.
