Briefed on Outcome of 6th Congress

The newly elected ELF-RC leadership members currently in Khartoum on Friday, 11 August 2006, conducted a meeting for Khartoum and Kessela Branch members and briefed them on the outcome of the 6th General National Congress of the organization.  The briefing session in Khartoum was opened by Mohammed Adem Artaa, Executive Committee member and head of the newly established Office for Youth and Women’s Affairs, who, together with RC member Sirak Zemenfes presented the highlights of the successful organizational congress held in Ethiopia last month.

Ibrahim Mohammed Ali later explained in great length the paramount significance of the Congress decision for the establishment of an all-inclusive mass party; the importance given by ELF-RC to the issue of decentralization in Eritrea, and the decision related to market economy for sustainable development in post-PFDJ Eritrea.

Held at the Youth Center in the Jiref quarter of Khartoum, the meeting was attended by a substantially large number of ELF-RC members residing in the southern zones of the Sudanese capital. Also attending and contributing to the discussions on Friday were Tsegay Mezgebe, RC member and Deputy Head for Youth Affairs; and other leadership members including Abdulkader Al Ugud and Mahrai  Mogos.

Similarly, Mohammed Ali Ibrahim, head of the military office conducted a meeting of the ELF-RC members in Kessela and briefed the participants on the 6th National Congress’ outcomes.

Similar briefing sessions for ELF-RC members and, later on, for the public are scheduled in several Sudanese cities.
