Abdella Adem visits Addis Ababa

May12, 2006(KHARTOUM) _Vice- chairman of the Eritrean Salvation Front Mr. Abdella Adem arrived in Addis Ababa last Wednesday, in an important visit ever since the declaration of the leadership of the Salvation Front last year. Mr. Abdella is the most prominent Eritrean leader who visits Ethiopia since the Eritrean Democratic Alliance’s Supreme leadership concluded its third ordinary meeting in Khartoum, Sudan.

 Informed source disclosed to the GIC that Mr.Abdella has begun his visit with meetings with Ethiopian government officials as well as with officials of the ruling party in Ethiopia to exchange views regarding the latest developments in the Horn of Africa relevant to the Eritrean political course.

The source said that Mr. Abedlla would discuss ways of enhancing the relationship between the Eritrean opposition powers and Ethiopia government.  According to the source, Mr.Abdella would brief the Ethiopian officials about the latest developments in the Eritrean political arena; and the efforts exerted to alleviate the sufferings of the Eritrean people.

It is worth mentioning that, Mr. Abdella has visited the United States of America two times this year; and he was the first Eritrean official who visits Ethiopia in the year 2003 after his defection from the ruling party in Eritrea before he declared the birth of the Eritrean people’s Movement in the year 2004. Mr. Abdella has good relationship with a number of the Ethiopian officials since the liberation war; and according to the source his visit would promote the relationship of the Eritrean opposition powers and Ethiopian government.
